Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

Partners

Fly a single-engine aircraft (type Cessna 150–172, Piper PA28, etc.) as pilot in command, in daytime and night-time visual flight rules (VFR) conditions and carrying a maximum of 9 passengers.

The commercial pilot may be paid for their services.

Training hours

Minimum training hours as per Transport Canada:

  • 200 hours total flight time (including PPL), including:
    • 100 hours as pilot in command (including PPL PIC hours)
    • 20 hours of navigation (including PPL)

  • 8 months
  • Estimate: $25,000 (taxes included)
