Aerobatic Instructor Rating

Description

Privileges

Class 1 Rating

The holder of a Class 1 Aerobatic Instructor Rating—Aeroplane may:

  • (a) exercise the benefits of a Class 2 Aerobatic Instructor Rating—Aeroplane.
  • (b) provide ground and flight training for the endorsement of an Aerobatic Instructor Rating—Aeroplane on a licence.
  • (c) recommend a student for a flight test for the endorsement of an Instructor Rating—Aeroplane on a licence.

Class 2 Rating

The holder of a Class 2 Aerobatic Instructor Rating—Aeroplane may:

  • (a) provide flight training for the performance of aerobatics.
  • (b) certify in the personal logbook of a licensed pilot that the pilot is competent to perform aerobatics.

Prerequisites :

Training hours:
  • 25 hours of ground school (including briefings and debriefings)
  • Approximately 30 hours of flight time with a class 1 aerobatics instructor
